A NECESSARY KINDNESS
A confessional facility.
You write one true thing you have never said out loud, and sign it
with a name you choose. Strangers read it and decide: CONDEMNED,
and your secret is carved on a stone in the field for everyone to
read — or ABSOLVED, and it is sealed, unread, forever.
Ten absolutions set you free. One condemnation ends you.
Most are condemned.
Carved stones decay word by word over forty-eight hours until they
are black and unreadable. The name outlives the words. The field
shows the newest stones and the newest walkers; the rest is kept on
the leaderboard.
Every confession passes automated moderation before a stranger
reads it. This is a game about the weight of secrets, for adults —
you must be 18 or older to take part. It is not a crisis service.
If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number —
112 anywhere in the EU. For suicide support in the Netherlands, call
113 free and anonymously, or chat at 113.nl.
Entry is free. Judging is free. Money buys nothing here.
